COMIC BOOK ILLUSTRATION

SATURDAYS  |  9:00 AM – 12:00 PM            2/15/25 – 5/10/25

12 WEEKLY COURSE MEETINGS

Learn the ins and outs of comics by diving into all the illustrative processes of comic book storytelling. In this course we will be making dynamic page designs utilizing an arsenal of tools of the trade, stringing pages together to create compelling narrative flow. We'll cover thumbnailing, pencilling, inking and a number of ways to approach writing a comic, all the while producing a solid portfolio of comic book pages. Further topics include visual/narrative transitions, experimental comics processes, dynamic drawing and point-of-view, with copious history of comics art woven throughout. Every student creates a self–publishable book of their classwork.

My basic, nuts-and-bolts class on comics making is designed for adults of all skill levels. The style you bring to class is the best style for making comics; I want to help you enhance the way you communicate visually with that style. It will be really good time, too.
